Stand up paddle boarding is fantastic way to exercise and keep fit and healthy. Whether it's a gentle paddle on a lake or down a river, taking part in the exciting race scene or completing an endurance challenge, there is something that appeals to pretty much everyone. By incorporating land-based training I can help you increase your strength, mobility, aerobic capacity and muscular endurance resulting in more enjoyment, less fatigue and reduced injury.

PERSONAL TRAINING

Whether you want to paddle faster, go for longer, get stronger or lose weight, incorporating land-based training can increase your strength, mobility, aerobic capacity and muscular endurance resulting in more enjoyment, less fatigue and reduced injury. 

 

My approach is to create customised training plans that mix off the water training and SUP sessions tailored to meet your goals and using equipment you have access to; be it in the gym, at home or the great outdoors.  Coaching is delivered through the online training portal and mobile app, with in person training and face to face check-ins available. 

 

 

SPORTS NUTRITION

At the most basic level, nutrition is important because it provides a source of energy required to perform.  The food we eat impacts on our strength, training, performance and recovery.  Not only is the type of food important for sports nutrition but the times we eat throughout the day also has an impact on our performance levels and our bodies ability to recover after exercising. 

 

I’ve taken the science and broken it down into some really easy to digest (pun intended) answers to some of the most important questions, such as;

 

  • What kind of food should I consume while training over longer durations than an hour?

  • How can I avoid / prolong ‘hitting the wall’?

  • What is the optimal time, and amount to eat before a race?

  • What role do supplements play in a nutrition strategy?

 

I can help by discussing periodised nutrition strategies for both off-season, during-season and during event that will compliment your training to give you the best chance of hitting your goals.
